- Turn off copy/printer machines at the end
of each day
- Turn off computers and all office
equipment at the end of each day
- Reduce use of space heaters, extra
refrigerators
- Utilize electrical lighting / air
conditioning / heating only in areas currently in use
- Reduce lighting levels or utilize only
one bulb in fluorescent light fixtures

- Utilize Centrex phone system dialing features
- Take an inventory of supplies that can be utilized prior
to purchasing new
- Eliminate any unused phone lines, or consolidate one
phone line for multiple users (if not in the office that
often)

print jobs
- Reduce color copies
- Eliminate or reduce rental of public storage units
- Create business cards and print in-house
- Reduce or eliminate rental of water coolers, or pool
expense with other departments
- Research and utilize lowest per-gallon rate gasoline
(for BCOE vehicles)
- Discontinue car wash expense (for BCOE vehicles)
- Eliminate or drastically reduce purchase of
snacks/lunches for BCOE employee meetings
- Utilize courier service v.s. U.S. mail
- Research and utilize low to mid-range hotel/motel
reservations
- Reduce unnecessary printing, utilizing email and/or
scanning documents
- "Think Green" - change workflow processes to scan
documents and save to the server or archive to a CD, rather
than printing and storing a hard copy.
