Intro to Computers
Digitize Me! - Now that you know how to take digital photos, this class will show your how to use digital photos to teach language arts, math, and science. You'll learn how to create digital camera projects with your students and use a scanner to digitize student work. This class will cover manipulating graphics such as student art work, photos and more and address what format works best for the web, scrapbooks and presentations. No previous experience required.
Beginning Excel for Teachers - This workshop introduces users to Excel as a powerful spreadsheet application for classroom use. Topics covered include overview of spreadsheets and uses as a classroom tool, basic vocabulary, creating workbooks, working with cells, formatting, and writing simple formulas. Creating graphs and charts. The workshop will use Microsoft Excel 2002 and the skills introduced can be easily transferred to other Excel programs. Intermediate Excel for Teachers - This workshop will introduce using Microsoft Excel as a database and additional features in Microsoft Excel and is for those familiar with topics covered in the introductory course. Topics covered include inserting comments, Creating, sorting and filtering an excel database and using Excel as a grade book. The workshop will use Microsoft Excel 2002 and the skills introduced can be easily transferred to other versions of Excel. Date: See Online Registration Calendar for availability
Introduction to Computers for Teachers - Windows 98
with Office XP:
Beginning Word for Teachers - This workshop is for new users of Microsoft Word or those making the transition from another word processing program. The basics of Word will be covered including creating documents, setting margins, understanding menus and toolbars, working with fonts, cut, copy and paste functions, bullets and numbering, printing and saving documents. The workshop will use Microsoft Word 2002 and the skills introduced can be easily transferred to other word processing programs.
Intermediate Word for Teachers - This workshop is for those familiar with topics covered in the Beginning Word session and focused on classroom use of MS Word. Topics for this class include using templates and wizards to create quizzes and other classroom forms, find and replace features, creating and editing complex text formats, setting tabs, inserting and formatting graphics. The workshop will use Microsoft Word 2002 and the skills introduced can be easily transferred to other versions of MS Word.
CTAP 100 Personal Proficiency
with Computers - (Courses 010-090). This will be the only time
face-to-face CTAP 100 courses will be offered this school year. No
prerequisite is required. You may sign up for one or all
classes as needed. Each class is 3 1/2 hours in length and
is taught in the BCOE Board Room, Oroville, 1859 Bird St.
See Online Registration Calendar for classes offered. While it is not necessary to take these classes in precise order, it is highly recommended that CTAP 010 be taken first.
Open Lab time is for any teacher working on a project that may need computer assistance. It is not mandatory, nor is it part of the CTAP 100 Stipend hours. For more information
