![]() November 1, 2001 Bring Back Those Archived Messages By Teresa Lightle- Computer Training Coordinator Now that you are capable of archiving your old e-mail messages, this article will step you through the process of retrieving important messages you have compressed and stored in the archive.pst files. It is very important to remember where you stored those files. Users should be saving this file to either their server folder or under My Documents.
This will launch the Import and Export Wizard. The wizard will walk you through the steps of importing your messages back into Outlook. The first step will ask you where the archive files are located. This option may already have the correct path chosen; if it does not, you will need to use the Browse button to locate your archive.pst files. Once you have chosen the path, choose the next button in the Wizard dialogue box. The wizard gives you the option to create duplicate messages, or not duplicate the messages. If you wish to import everything you have archived, you can choose the Next button. To use the Filter option, choose the Filter button. The screen shown below appears and allows the user to choose specific messages based upon the content of the message or whom the messages are from. Once the options are selected, choose OK.
When the Wizard dialogue box appears, choose Finish. Animations will appear on the screen indicating a transfer is taking place. Once this is complete, you will be able to access the imported messages from your current Outlook screen. To place these items back in the archive, you must rerun the archive command. Spell Check Individual Words Quickly in MIcrosoft Word After you have keyed a complete document, the protocol is to run the spelling and grammar checker. There are several ways to run this option,
