The State Migrant Speech & Debate Tournament was held on May 5th, 6th, and 7th. The state tournament featured Migrant students from all over the State of California in grades 6-12. Here are the results for Region 2 Contestants 1st place

Debate-English

Windsor Middle School - Daisy Guzman, Dafne Cruz, Daniela Orosco, 8th grade

Cali Calmeca - Bryan Santiago 7th grade 

 

 2nd  English speech, 6th grade, Harneet Kaur, Live Oak

and 2nd extemporaneous, Harneet Kaur, Live Oak

 

3rd place English speech, 7th grade, Arshpreet Kaur, River Valley High

 

 2nd place Spanish Speech, Jose Hernandez, 9th Dixon High School, and 2nd place Spanish extemporaneous

 

11th, 2nd English, Manraj Singh, River Valley High, and  1st place extemporaneous 

 

2nd English Speech Jasmine Kaur, River Valley High, English 12th and 1st English

Extemporaneous (this was her fourth consecutive year winning extemporaneous!)

 

1st place Spanish prepared speech, 10th grade and 

1st place Spanish extemporaneous speech, Allyson Martínez, Napa Unified

 

3rd place English High School Debate

Itzel Gallardo, Mariana Ortiz, Lesly Torres-Bustillos and Jennifer Huerta, Vacaville High
