Butte County Office of Education’s integrated STEM partnership with CSU, Chico for elementary teacher professional development has been announced as “funded” by the California Department of Education. This 1.5 million dollar grant will bring science and math together with technology and engineering. Over the next three years participants will be able to visit the Hands on Learning Labs at CSU, Chico; engage in team-based planning and reflection with colleagues; and learn about exciting ways to integrate Common Core and STEM. School districts participating include Biggs Unified, Chico Unified, Oroville City Elementary, Paradise Unified and Palermo Union. Over 60 Teachers will be part of this exciting new project. The first event is a kick-off Orientation on March 29, 2014, at CSU Chico in Colusa Hall Room 100A.
