Bing in the Classroom

Even though BCOE does not recommend any particular search engine for home or work use, we would like you to know that Microsoft has done some things with their Bing search engine that can help schools and students.

Just by searching with Bing, anyone can generate rewards that can be redeemed for tablets in the classroom!

This is called Bing Rewards.  If you have a personal or consumer Microsoft account (Live, Hotmail, Xbox, Outlook.com) and would like to sign up for Bing Rewards, just follow this link: Sign Up for Bing Rewards

Microsoft has also made ad-free search available to K-12 institutions who sign up for Bing in the Classroom.  BCOE.org is enrolled in the Bing in the Classroom program, so now any search using Bing from the BCOE network will be ad-free.  Safer searching is also enabled with Bing in the Classroom.

Finally, for learners and educators, each day, the Bing homepage has new and interesting content tied to exploration activities and lesson plans.  Here are some examples: Lesson Plans
