Assessing Child Care Economics Needs & Transportation - ACCENT
Assessing Child Care Economics Needs and Transportation
(ACCENT) project is a three-component study designed to quantify child
care contributions in Butte County, and incorporate child care into local
planning efforts. Each component focuses on an infrastructure
inextricably linked with child care: the economy, service supply and
demand, and transportation. To view these documents you will need Adobe's Acrobat Reader. The Economic Impact Report The Economic Impact Report articulates child care in economic development terms and quantifies ways in which the child care industry is critical to the local economy. The report provides recommendations and builds local partnerships aimed at increasing the child care industry's capacity to respond to the growing child care needs of families.
The Community Needs Profile The Community Needs Profile illustrates that child care is a vital service to families and the community, enabling parents to work and children to thrive. Quality, affordable, available, accessible child care meets the growing needs of county children, families, employers, and the economy. Six key areas for building supply in Butte County are identified.
The Child Care Transportation Study The Child Care Transportation Study assesses the nexus between transportation and the child care industry in Butte County. Both are critical elements of families' ability to work and of a strong county infrastructure.
Sponsored by Butte County Children and Families Commission, Implementation support from Butte County Department of Employment and Social Services Project facilitation by Butte County Office of Education, Child Development Programs & Services Prepared by the National Economic Development and Law Center For More Information
