ALA (American Library Association) Book and Media Awards
Includes listings of Newbery and Caldecott winning books as well
as winners of many other awards including Book and Media awards.
Cable in the Classroom
Cable in the Classroom (CIC), the cable industry's education
foundation, works to expand and enhance learning opportunities
for children and youth. Cable networks, such as Discovery
and The History Channel, air educational programs that are
commercial-free and copyright cleared for a year or more to be
used in the classroom at the discretion of the teacher.
They also provide online content, including lesson plans,
interactive learning experiences, lesson plans, and activities.
California Department of Education
Features: Teaching, Learning, and Technology; State and School Finance, Research, and Statistical Information; Healthy Children, Youth, and Families; Special, Alternative and Continuing Education; Legal and Legislative Information; and Grant Information. Also provides

CLRN makes it easy for you to find the standards-aligned

CLRN experts have identified, reviewed, and organized hundreds
of Electronic Learning Resources (ELRs) in a searchable database
that allows you to compare key features of selected resources.
California Student Media and Multimedia Festival
The Festival celebrates projects and learning with media and
multimedia projects by students. There are also awards for
teachers. Over 6,000 students and hundreds of teachers
took part in last year's Festival! The Festival is not
just for the high-end, expert technology users. If your
students (or you) are using video making or multimedia in your
classroom, the Festival is here to honor your efforts.
Center for Media Literacy
The Center for Media Literacy (CML) is a nonprofit educational
organization that provides leadership, public education,
professional development and educational resources nationally.
Dedicated to promoting and support media literacy education as a
framework for accessing, analyzing, evaluating, and creating
media content.
Children's Notable Awards
Each year the Association for Library Service to Children (ALSC)
identifies the best of the best in children's books, recordings,

Selected Films and Videos for Young Adults by Young Adult Library Services of ALA
The YALSA committee chose nine videos for its 1998 Selected Films and Videos for Young Adults list. The annual list recognizes films and videos for technical merit, content, use with, and interest to young adults ages 12-18.
