LPC Upcoming Meetings

The primary mission of the Local Child Care Planning Council (LPC) is to plan for child care and development services for children from birth to age twelve, based on the needs of families, building on the distinct strengths of each community, and requires the forming of strong partnerships with agencies, both public and private, and individuals throughout the community to ensure that the diverse needs throughout the community are effectively addressed.
Each council has members representative of the communities they serve.

We are pleased that you are interested in exploring participation with the Council.  Your perception of the child care needs of our community and your input to the planning process is valuable.  Please participate in the meetings, share information and ask questions. 

Membership Categories

Membership is mandated to equally represent Butte County in each of the following categories:

• Child Care Consumer

• Child Care Provider

• Public Agency Representative

• Community Representative

• Discretionary

If you are interested in becoming a voting member of the LPC, a Membership Application (MS Word) is available.  Completed applications can be emailed to pmitchel@bcoe.org, faxed to 532-5698 or mailed to 1870 Bird Street, Oroville, CA 95965, attention Peggy Mitchell.

Workgroups

The Council's activities are implemented through workgroups.  Your participation in any of these groups is welcomed.  If you are interested in participating with a workgroup, please attend a regularly scheduled Full Council meeting for more information or contact Peggy Mitchell (see below).
