…a comprehensive planning, facilitation, staff development, and coaching service for elementary and secondary schools 

Butte County Office of Education provides direct assistance to elementary and secondary schools to improve student academic achievement. Working in collaboration with school and district educators, BCOE contracts to provide site and district specific services.  This includes services as a SAIT (School Assistance  and Intervention Team) provider, technical assistance to Program Improvement Districts and Program Improvement Schools and

assistance with the High Priority Schools Program. 

The Process:

• facilitate the implementation of the academic content standards in reading, writing and mathematics
• support teachers as they align their curriculum, develop assessments, and initiate after school intervention programs
• assist with the collection, analysis and display of standardized and classroom-based assessment data utilizing their data management system
• facilitate discussions in grade level or subject area teams to:
  • identify underlying causes for low student performance
  • target individual students for intervention
  • identify opportunities for teacher professional development

The Team:

Kathy Clements support teachers in English/Language Arts, Holly Ahmadi and Rindy DeVoll supports teachers with English language development (ELD), and Michelle Sanchez  provides support for administrators and directs the BCOE Team, as well as support for teachers in math and assessment.

The BCOE Team members also include:

• Christine McCormick- beginning teachers, data analysis and data management system support

Your role:

Provide a schedule of meeting times for our BCOE Team to work with your school administration and instructional staff, as needed, on-site and online.
