The Northeastern California Regional Consortium (NCRC) was approved as a Local Education Agency (LEA) for recommending candidates for the Designated Subjects Credential in 1976 and has operated continuously since that time.  The consortium has been coordinated since its inception by the Butte County Office of Education.  The Director of the consortium is Paul Watters.

The purpose of the consortium is to serve local school districts, ROC/P’s, and Adult Education programs by providing comprehensive Designated Subject Credential information, evaluation and processing services along with the delivery of quality Level I and Level II coursework.
