AUTHOR VISITS
May 2008	Author - To be announced An award-winning, children's book author will visit schools in Butte County in May.  Look for the announcement coming in the near future.

 

FLYERS
April 30, 2008	Young Author Book Contest Flyer on Young Author Book Contest The 2008 student-authored book contest sponsored by the Jesse Wardlaw Williams Reading Council and the Butte County Office of Education Library Services, will be judged by JWW Reading Council members, teachers, and BCOE librarians. Books must be received by March 14, 2008, for judging. An awards reception is tentatively scheduled for April 30, 2008, at the Butte County Office of Education's Instructional Resource Center in Oroville.
January	Author Units Flyer on new Children's Author Unit Series (Adobe PDF) Special boxed units featuring seven popular children's authors.
December	State-Adopted Reading Series Flyer regarding supplementary resources available to implement state-adopted reading series. (Adobe PDF) Library Services can deliver to your classroom the supplementary resources needed to implement the new state-adopted reading series.
November	Classroom Units Flyer on ordering units for the classroom. (Adobe PDF) Library Services provides quality library books for the classroom on any topic. Order up to 150 books!
February	Our Presidents Series Flyer regarding a new series: Our Presidents (Adobe PDF) New series available for the middle and upper elementary grade levels. Excellent for book reports, research, and studying American history.
October	New Puppets Flyer regarding new puppets in the library. (Adobe PDF) These puppets were selected specifically for use with classroom book orders frequently requested by teachers. They are ideal for extended literature activities.

 

WORKSHOPS
October 2007	Depository Library Staff Inservice This inservice will focus on updating the library automation skills and exploring solutions to specific school library management questions and concerns.  Library staff will be receiving invaluable training and support for school library programs.
