BOOKS AND PUPPETS TO CLASSROOMS
Teachers and Home Study parents from contracting schools may order award-winning, K-8 curriculum-aligned books for up to 8 weeks, delivered to the schools weekly. 180 puppets for instructional enrichment are also available from Library Services.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT LIBRARY
Professional titles and a variety of reference resources covering educational issues and topics, as well as publications from the California Department of Education, are available to all educators in Butte County Schools.

SCHOOL LIBRARIES
IRC Library Services helps to maintain 26 Butte County school libraries. New depository/branch libraries may be placed in contracting schools upon request from contracting school principals. We select and install an initial collection and send new books regularly. We also provide catalog cards, MARC21 records on disk, training for library staff, handbooks, and ongoing support and advice.

CONSULTATION, TRAINING, SUPPORT
A credentialed librarian and an experienced library staff are available to provide consultation, planning, onsite support, training, and workshops in all areas of library service, including library automation.

AUTHOR PRESENTATIONS
Library Services coordinates an "Authors-in-the-Schools" program. Well-known authors make presentations to teachers and students that include book sales, autographing, and curriculum-related activities. These author presentations are special events that are always enthusiastically anticipated.

BOOK SELECTION
IRC Library Services makes available several book selection and review resources such as School Library Journal, Booklist, and Books in Print to assist Butte County schools' library staff and teachers with book purchases for schools.
