Program Description:
BCOE supports schools and districts by providing technical
assistance in analyzing data and information about student
performance to identify needs in improving the quality of
instruction to improve student achievement. Using this
analysis, BCOE then can aid in the development and delivery of
comprehensive professional development and support systems for
improving student achievement in mathematics. Support may
include coaching, consultation, data analysis, grade
level/department meeting facilitation and workshops.
Program Goals:
- Deepen teacher-content knowledge in mathematics
- Increase teacher knowledge in the content knowledge of their grade level, including the relationship of those standards to the state testing system
- Improve student performance through training and assistance to teachers
- Provide resources to teachers to help them effectively teach the academically, culturally and linguistically diverse student populations in their classrooms
- Facilitate the networking and articulation of teachers from different school sites and grade levels
