The Summer 2008 Agreement for Professional Development Services has been mailed to your district.  The Agreement, signed by your district office, must be on file prior to registration or the participant may be responsible for registration fees.

Step 2:  Registration Information

Online registration opens May 7, 2008

Register early - space is limited.  All program offerings/institutes are subject to cancellation without minimum registration numbers.

Information needed for each teacher to register online:  Name, mailing address (registration confirmation, all site information and any materials will be sent here), home phone, district name, email address, school CDS code and type of credential held by teacher.

For CDEs most current information regarding SB 472, please check http://www.cde.ca.gov/pd/ca/ma/mard.asp .  At this site you will also find the SB 472 application to participate as well as the reimbursement form.

SB 472 Reading First Institute Summary of Provided Services
The summary of services includes instruction, provided materials, database management, site management, UCLA extension credits, and an 80-hour follow-up opportunity for Reading First teachers.


Description of SB 472/Reading First Institute Training Levels
This document describes the reading institute levels offered throughout the statewide RIC system.  Year 1 is reimbursable by SB 472.  Years 2, 3, 4 and Coach Institutes were created to serve Reading First districts' needs. 
Year 2 ELPD is reimbursable by SB 472. 


Description of Teacher Modules
Teacher modules are designed to reinforce core knowledge and focus on topics addressing a significant component related to content and/or instruction in order to develop students' proficiency in reading and writing.
