Annual Employee Recognition
There are five categories in which a BCOE employee may be nominated.  Each category includes specific criteria that nominees will be scored based on the written description provided.  Any person can make a nomination in any one of the categories.  There is no limit to the number of nominations submitted.  Forms that are not filled out completely will receive a lower score.  Up to three awards can be given per category.

Teacher of the Year Award (nominated by employees and selected by the STAR Committee)
Given to an employee who has made significant contributions to student learning, schools, parents, and community and who consistently goes above and beyond the normal expectations of a teacher.

Support Employee of the Year Award  (nominated by employees and selected by the STAR Committee)
Given to an employee who has made significant contributions to student learning, schools, parents, and community and who consistently goes above and beyond the call of duty.  (Example of eligible positions: College Tutor, Maintenance Worker, Student Activities Assistant, Clerical Support, Paraprofessional etc.)

Manager of the Year Award  (nominated by employees and selected by the STAR Committee)
Given to an employee who has made significant contributions to BCOE employees, students, and programs and who consistently goes above and beyond the normal expectations of a manager.

Leadership Award  (nominated by employees and selected by the STAR Committee)
Given to an employee who models, exemplifies, and promotes outstanding leadership qualities and behaviors.

Extra Mile Award  (nominated by employees and selected by the STAR Committee)
Given to an employee who consistently provides extra effort and uses positive behaviors to make their division/department a better place.

Specialty Recognition Awards
Superintendent's Award
(selected by the County Superintendent)

Given to an employee who, for a variety of reasons, has exemplified what it means to be a great employee

Hall of Fame Award (nominated by employees and selected by a Hall of Fame Committee appointed by the County Superintendent) 
Given to an individual(s) who have made significant contributions and have had a long-term impact on the school educational community. The recipient must be a past or retired employee, or community member who has served at least 10 years with Butte County Office of Education.

Community Partners Award (nominated by employees and selected by the STAR Committee)
Given to a member or organization of the community, who for a variety of reasons has made a positive impact on the educational success of student goals in the classroom, a program, or Butte County Office of Education in its entirety.
