Board Visits

The Butte County Office of Education has scheduled staff reports for each of their meetings throughout the year.  When appropriate and when time permits, the Board will visit the site of the scheduled report to see first hand the services provided by the programs.

November 19, 2007

Sergio Carpio, Associate Director of California Mini-Corps was assisted by Lupe Guillen, Sandra Rodriguez, and Lupe Orejel in discussing the highlights of the Mini-Corps program for 2006-07, including the Outdoor Education Program, Summer Indoor Program, Puppetry Program, Home Visits, and Tutors.   

The Puppetry Program assists with interactive teaching of all standard subjects as well as health, safety and nutrition. 

December 10, 2007 - Lincoln Center Dedication

 

Welcome to the Lincoln Center - located at 1870 Bird Street in Oroville. Following their regularly scheduled board meeting, the board members dedicated the building which is located across Bird Street from the main Butte County Office of Education site.

Board member Dr. Robert W. Purvis and Board member Dr. Ladd Johnson assisted in the ceremonial ribbon cutting dedicating the building "The Lincoln Center". 

All of the board members, Bessie R. Hironimus, Dr. Robert W. Purvis, Brenda J. McLaughlin, Pat Matthew Spear, President Jeannine MacKay, Betty Vassar and Dr. Ladd Johnson were honored for their support of the new center with a bronze plaque displayed at the entrance of Lincoln Center.
