This is BCOE's Professional Development Calendar where you can view and register for events.

Beginning Teacher Support and Assessment
The Beginning Teacher Support and Assessment (BTSA) is a statewide research based program of support and skill building designed to meet the needs of beginning teachers in California.

California Technology Assistance Project - CTAP Region 2
It's our goal to assist schools in the nine northeastern counties to integrate and sustain the use of technology that supports instructional practices based on principles of effective learning, staff development and organizational improvement.

Computer Training & Assessments
Butte County Office of Education Technology Training services include:

  • Hands-on Computer Training Courses for teachers, administration, clerical and support personnel.
  • Teacher focused Training and Face to Face CTAP Training.
  • Pre-employment computer testing and screening.
  • Customized Computer Training to meet specific district, program and school needs.
  • Technology Skill Level Assessments.

To better serve our students and staff, Butte County Office of Education’s focus is to provide consistent training to all employees. This training plan is designed with these functions in mind:

  • Empower learners to feel safe, capable and proficient through comprehensive training.
  • Provide accessible, accurate and current information about issues and programs that contribute to improved performance.
  • Increase efficiency and productivity.
  • Participate in learning new technology skills.

CTAP Online
CTAP Online is a web site devoted to helping teachers understand, apply and teach technology in their classrooms. Our course catalog offers courses in personal proficiency skills, technology integration in curriculum, information literacy, standards, assessment and more. CTAP Online courses can be taken entirely online, administered in a face-to-face setting, or any combination of the two. We also provide ongoing Mentor and Site Administrator workshops at the Butte County Office of Education and individual school, district and county offices.

DATA
DATA provides the professional development and technical assistance classroom teachers, principals and curriculum coordinators need to collect, analyze, and use student performance data to improve instruction

Learning Support Network Region 2
Learning Support Network develops and provides regional technical assistance and training for the Healthy Start After School and Safe Neighborhoods Partnership Program. Region 2's Learning Support Network includes the nine Northern California counties of: Butte, Glenn, Lassen, Modoc, Plumas, Tehama, Trinity, Shasta and Siskiyou.

Mathematics Instruction
This program provides professional development and technical assistance educators need to analyze student performance in mathematics, and to then determine appropriate strategies for improving student performance.

Project Challenge
Project Challenge is a comprehensive staff development program in English Language Development (ELD) and Specially Designed Academic Instruction in English (SDAIE).

Reading Implementation Center (RIC)
As part of AB466 and the Reading First Professional Development Program, teachers and instructional aides or paraprofessionals learn how to effectively implement the new California state content standards using the California aligned curriculum framework and the State Board of Education or local Board (high schools) approved instructional materials.

Regional Technical Assistance Center (R-TAC)
The Butte R-TAC provides the technical assistance to those districts in the 14 northern California counties who have received Reading First funding. Technical assistance provided supports these districts to fully implement their Reading First grants at their identified schools. Support includes coaching, consulting, data analysis and other supportive mechanisms all aimed at increasing student achievement in reading.

AB466-Approved Reading/Language Arts Institutes
The Butte RIC is pleased to offer ongoing opportunities to attend state-approved 5-day, 40-hour AB466 Reading/Language Arts Institutes.
