Region 2 has developed it’s own data base system for enrolling and
recording services to migrant students. The MSIS allows us to generate many
types of reports, e.g., enrollment lists, family lists, school lists etc.
Educational information on students is collected on a Student and Program Needs
Assessment (SAPNA) which is instrumental in planning and developing District
Service Agreements. This information also generates an Individual Learning Plan
(ILP) that is provided to parents on an annual basis. In addition, data is
collected on services provided to students on a quarterly basis and a Services
Rendered Report is generated. This information is also transferred to the ILP.
By maintaining our own database we are able to generate information when needed
such as for the Migrant Education Regional Accountability System (MERAS) that is
submitted to the federal government on an annual basis.
