Careers in Education

This course is designed to provide students with knowledge of career opportunities in the field of teaching and other school site educational professions.  Students will work with children one-on-one and in large and small groups.  Activities will include working directly with students in elementary, junior high and special education classrooms.  Students will visit classes at a variety of schools.  This course helps prepare students for entry into college or university teacher training programs.

You Can Earn: A Certificate of Proficiency, high school and college credits.

How to Enroll in Careers in Education

• High School Students:  You need to be at least 16 years old and see your counselor or call ROP at 879-7457.

Fees:  There is no cost for high school students.

Location: Chico High School

Duration: This two-semester class meets two hours daily Monday through Friday, and begins in the fall.
