A+ Computer Repair

This course is designed to provide students with computer skills & background information which could lead to entry-level computer technician employment and prepare them for the A+ Computer Repair Certification.  Students will gain knowledge of computer hardware skills in the area of installation, troubleshooting and configuration of motherboards, processors, power supplies, memory, video cards, sound cards, network cards, hard disk drives, CD-ROMs, CD-RW, video equipment, scanners, printers, USB devices, monitors, modems and controller cards.

  • The installation, configuration, & upgrading of operating systems

  • Basic networking concepts and terminology
  • Major operating system fundamentals, functions, components and files
  • Windows network capabilities and Internet setup

You Can Earn: A Certificate of Proficiency, high school and Butte College credits. 

How to Enroll for A+ Computer Repair:

  • High School Students:  You need to be at least 16 years old and see your counselor or call ROP at 879-7457.

Fees: There is no costor high school students.

Location: Chico High School & Paradise High School

Duration: This two-semester class meets one hour daily at Paradise High, Monday through Friday and two hours Monday & Wednesday at Chico High, both classes begin in the fall.
