CAD Welding Fabrication

This class provides students with entry-level training in Computer Aided Design/CAD, Computer Aided Manufacturing/CAM technologies employing plasma arc, solid works and welding/fabrication equipment. Skill areas include light construction, welding, sheet metal work, heat treating/hardfacing, hydraulics and basic mechanics. Internships with local manufactures offer students on-the-job learning experiences. Class objectives are focused towards optional AWS Welding Certification. Students have the opportunity to participate in FFA (Furture Farmers of America) activities and competitions.

You Can Earn: A Certificate of Proficiency and high school credits. This class is also pending articulation for college credits with Butte College.

How to Enroll for CAD Welding Fabrication:

  • High School Students:  You need to be at least 16 years old and see your counselor or call ROP at 879-7457.

Fees: There is no cost for high school students.

Location: Gridley High School

Duration: This two-semester class meets two hours daily Monday through Friday and begins in the fall.
