Environmental Technology

This class is designed to give students an in-depth understanding of the emerging field of environmental science.  Students will learn about basic ecological concepts, environmental quality, natural resources, waste and hazardous materials, environmental laws and regulations and environmental careers.  Students will develop sampling, mapping and data analysis techniques through hands-on laboratory activities and on-the-job training with local water, waste, air quality and environmental agencies.

Special Considerations:

  • Algebra 1 or Math A and B
  • Physical Science or Basic Chemistry
    with a grade of C or better

You Can Earn: A Certificate of Proficiency and high school credits (qualifies for University of California A-G elective credit).

How to Enroll for Environmental Technology:

  • High School Students:  You need to be at least 16 years old and see your counselor or call ROP at 879-7457.

Fees: There is no cost for high school students.

Location: Paradise High School

Duration: This two-semester class meets two hours daily Monday through Friday and begins in the fall.
