Tobacco Use Prevention Programs (TUPE) And California Healthy Kids Surveys
A California Department of Education (CDE) program, provided by, Proposition 56, Tobacco Tax Funding. TUPE provides tobacco education, prevention, intervention and cessation services in selected schools and communities countywide in grades 6-12. Training, professional development, curriculum materials and countywide events also support schools in tobacco prevention efforts. TUPE also provides technical assistance to districts for the implementation of the bi-annual California Healthy Kids Survey which provide measures for 7th, 9th, and 11th graders regarding alcohol, drugs, tobacco, violence, youth development, and other health related measures.
