Stacey [Malcolm], program manager for the Butte County Office of Education Expanded Learning Program, said that grant money from the state allowed the office to purchase 12 sets of robots for each after school program, of which there are about 24 located throughout the county.
The annual fee for the programs that serve children in elementary and middle schools is $30, though in some cases, that fee is waived. Children who are homeless or in the foster care system are given priority, [Malcolm] said."
