National, state and local teams preparing for students to return to school December 3, 2018

OROVILLE-CA  Paradise Unified School District (PUSD) superintendent Michelle John and Butte County Office of Education (BCOE) Superintendent Tim Taylor issued a joint statement last evening in preparation for Butte County schools re-opening.  National, state and local teams are preparing for Butte County students to return to school December 3, 2018, less than a month after the catastrophic Camp Fire destroyed schools and homes in communities of Paradise, Magalia and Concow. Preparations for the return to school include cleaning buildings and preparing teams of service providers to help staff and students get through trauma. John, Taylor and their teams are working hard to keep students with their teachers and to provide a safe, welcoming environment for students when they return. The superintendents wish for the next few days is for people to be with their families and to know schools will be ready after the holiday.  Announcements about temporary locations are forthcoming.
