2018 Junk Robot Competition
We are asking anyone grades K-12 to put together the most unique robot using old parts and pieces that would otherwise be thrown away. Whether it moves and performs a task or can righteously stand alone, the most innovative an creative robots will be shown at this year's Maker Showcase at the Butte County Fair! This is your opportunity to look at the things around you in a new way, and bring your ideas to life!

Step 1. SUBMIT FORM online By Friday, August 3rd
Step 2. BUILD/ HAVE FUN
Build your junk robot! Literally find garbage, scraps, and any other junk you come across and start creating!

You may also attend the free Maker's Day Workshop on Wednesday, June 20th, 9:30am - 3:30pm at the Center For Distributed Learning, 5 County Center Drive, Oroville, CA. You will have access to all materials and resources needed to make an amazing junk robot! The Butte County Fair will be onsite to register your entry into the fair.

Step 3. SUBMIT ROBOT on Saturday, August 11th 10am- 5pm
Bring your completed Junk Robot to the Butte County Fairgrounds, Feather Room, 199 East Hazel Street, Gridley, CA 95948 on Saturday, August 11, 2018 between 10am - 5pm.
VISIT the Maker Showcase at the Butte County Fair between August 23-26, 2018 to view your robot on display and see what others came up with!
Step 4. PICK UP
Come back to the Butte County Fair Grounds on Monday,August 27, 2018, between 10:00 am to 5:00 pm to take home your creation!
