Spelling Bees

The Butte County Office of Education coordinates the county elementary Spelling Bees for grade 4-6 students and the county junior high competition for students in grades 7-9. Butte County Spelling Bees give students the opportunity to demonstrate their spelling ability, think on their feet, and speak before an audience.

Elementary Spelling Bee (grades 4-6)

Grade 4-6 students participate in school competitions.  The top speller from each school advances to the Butte County Elementary Spelling Bee. The top two spellers in the county event advance to the California State Elementary Spelling Bee Championship.

Junior High Spelling Bee (grades 7-9)
