Medi-cal Administrative Activities

Federal funding reimburses schools for the cost of MAA that promote access to health care for preschool through 12th grade students in public schools and coordinates student health care needs with Medi-Cal service providers. Employees of BCOE and identified districts/schools in Butte County are trained in providing and reporting MAA activities performed during their work day during a Random Moment Time Survey (RMTS) for each quarter if they are selected. Local Educations Consortiums (LECs) in each region support the system of training, review and reimbursement through the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Systems (CMS).
