Butte CASC Requirements
The Butte CASC Program understands the unique demands of newly hired administrators, especially in rural settings where resourcefulness, adaptability, and community engagement are critical. Our program prioritizes strong, trusting, and personalized leadership coaching to equip you with the skills and confidence to address the complex challenges of your role. Through 80 hours of one-on-one coaching, you’ll receive individualized support and professional learning aligned with your leadership goals and the California Professional Standards for Educational Leaders (CPSELs).
Candidate Admissions Requirements:
To be eligible to enroll and participate in the Butte Clear Administrative Services Credential Program, individuals must provide documentation to the following requirements:
- Possess a valid Preliminary Administrative Services Credential
- Be currently employed in an administrative capacity
- Form CL777 Requirement
The Commission on Teacher Credential Requirements stipulate that holders of a Preliminary Administrative Services Credential must enroll in a CASC program within a year of employment in an administrative position.
Candidate Coursework & Completion Requirements:
To support the ongoing growth and experience of CASC candidates, all participants are required to engage in ongoing coaching with a program approved coach and engage in continuous professional learning. Below is an overview of the expectations for CASC candidates in the Butte CASC Program:
- Candidate Orientation: Candidates will begin both years of enrollment by participating in Orientation sessions to review program logistics and requirements.
- Candidate Assurances and Agreement: Candidates will submit forms affirming their review of the handbook and attend an Orientation at the beginning of each year of enrollment.
- Candidate Self Assessment: Candidates will self-reflect on their current practice and areas of growth by considering the California Professional Standards for Educational Leaders (CPSEL’s) three times throughout the course of the program.
- Candidate Individual Induction Plan: Candidates will complete two Individual Induction Plans (IIP), one at the start of Year 1 considering CPSEL’s 1-3, and a second at the start of Year 2 considering CPSEL’s 4-6. These IIP’s will include a leadership goal, measurable actions, and resources utilized for each of these CPSEL’s while outlining growth and challenges.
- Candidate Coaching Meetings: Candidates are required to meet weekly with their CASC program identified mentor for a total of 40 weeks during each year of enrollment.
- Candidate Professional Learning: Candidates are required to participate in ongoing professional learning totalling 20 hours per year while enrolled in the CASC Program.
- Candidate Exit Interview: Candidates will be joined by their CASC Coach and a panel provided by Butte CASC Program to present their growth and learning during the program as aligned with the CPSEL’s

Demonstrate mastery of each of the California Professional Standards for Education Leaders (CPSEL) in front of an exit interview panel composed of various educational partners

Upon completion of the program, candidates must submit a verification letter confirming two years of successful experience in a full-time administrative position by their employing agency.

Once a candidate has completed 2 years of successful experience in a full-time administrative position and has fulfilled all program requirements above, the Sr. Director of Professional Learning will submit a recommendation for the candidate to receive a Clear Administrative Service credential to the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC).
